Winding up law school as the first COVID-batch of lawyers from Pune University meant involuntary signing up for a shuttle. A shuttle between being ‘law students with impending final semester exams to be attempted’ on one hand and being declared as ‘graduates’ by the Central Government on the other hand. While the tussle between the State and Central Government left final year students across disciplines in limbo, I decided to utilize my time by joining an online legal ed-tech company.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a writing coach, evaluator and mentor, I was responsible for training law students, lawyers and professionals across backgrounds to write well-researched articles. A typical work day would involve evaluating and editing legal articles, conducting classes on the nuances of legal research and writing, ideating and curating topics for learners to write on, attending to student queries and conducting personal mentoring sessions for learners. As a pioneering contributor in the Writing team\u00a0 I was also responsible for streamlining processes and engaging students to write up to 7 articles in a month, thereby tripling quality contributions to the iPleaders blog. The team achieved great feats during my stint as an individual contributor. I was recognized as the ‘Performer of the month’ for 6 consecutive months.\u00a0 The joy I experienced while imparting my passion for legal writing and research left me feeling exhilarated after every work day.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intent of my role was to enable learners to develop, and exhibit thought leadership in their field of interest that would aid them in getting better paying job opportunities and internships when the global market was at an all-time low. By coaching a pool of 3000+ students (many of whom were first generation learners and professionals) in getting published across prominent forums, the contentment on receiving gratitude notes from students and working professionals when they landed opportunities during a period of global recession was extremely humbling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
